World Mental Health Day 2023

World Mental Health Day is on 10 October and the theme for this year is ‘Mental Health is a Universal Human Right.

World Mental Health Day is about raising awareness of mental health and driving positive change for everyone’s mental health.

Whilst one in four of us are likely to be affected by a mental health problem, those working in the construction industry are three times more likely to take their own lives than other sectors.

Home Fix Scotland (HFS) is now delighted to announce that they have become a Company Supporter of the Lighthouse Construction Industry Charity.

The Lighthouse Construction Industry mission is to:

  • Reduce construction industry suicides

  • Improve workforce welfare and wellbeing for this generation and the next and

  • Keep our key support services free for everyone in our industry to access

The Lighthouse Construction Industry Charity is the only charity that provides emotional, physical, and financial wellbeing support to the construction community and their families.

A crucial element of this is to provide a wide range of free and widely available pro-active resources to support the industry. And being a Company Supporter opens a wealth of services to HFS staff.

Core services for HFS staff include:

  • 24/7 Construction Industry Helpline

  • Self-Support App

  • Education & Training

  • Wellbeing Academy
